Countdown to the “Thinning of the Veil”

The Centre Family Dwelling, Pleasant Hill, Kentucky. This restored living history village
preserves a mid-19th century religious community built by the Shakers. The peaceful
and nearly monastic atmosphere is pervaded by the Shaker spirit, both literally
and figuratively. The spirits of Shakers are still seen, heard and felt here.

‘Tis the season for ghosts and all things spirit-related! Western tradition states that Halloween marks the thinning of the veil that separates the realms of the living and the dead. Starting tomorrow, I’ll start counting down the 13 days until Halloween with Haunt Briefs on locations in each Southern state I cover in this blog (Alabama, District of Columbia, Florida, Georgia, Kentucky, Louisiana, Maryland, Mississippi, North Carolina, South Carolina, Tennessee, Virginia and West Virginia). Have a marvelous Halloween!
